I would like to try to book a week at Marriott Phuket for a family member's honeymoon next February (2026). I already checked and the dates do not coincide with Chinese New Year but it is high season with the demand curve. Have people had success putting in a request on II for a certain week or a few weeks during high season or should I bite the bullet and book it in a month using points? Also, I'm assuming I would put in a request for either Mai Khao Beach or Phuket Beach Club. Any preference on the two in case I book with points?

Resorts Owned
Phuket Beach Club:
I have owned a week at Phuket Beach Club for over 20 years. I have had times when I put a week I could not use into Interval and then in a later year wanted to book my home resort. I have had good luck getting a reservation at the resort via using my deposited week, but one year I was checking inventory daily and then finally go lucky. I have never used the feature where you call out an exchange via interval so cannot speak to that option.

I suggest you also make a post in the facebook user group for the resort. There are a lot of owners in that group and you might find someone willing to rent their week for a small premium above annual maintenance fees. Mai Khao Beach is a points only resort.

PBC is much nicer and annual fees are about $1,100 USD. So good chance you can get a week for $1,500-$2,000 via the facebook group. You can also check redweek.com

For a honeymoon. I would definitely recommend Phuket Beach Club, as it is on the seafront in lush tropical gardens and shares all the facilities of the co-located JW hotel.
Mai Khao resort is also very good, but 5 minutes walk to the seafront.
We own at PBC, but we have also successfully exchanged there through Interval many times over the years.
That has always been in November / December though.
February, even when not at Chinese New Year, is highest demand so more challenging to book especially through Interval but can be with Points too.
So personally I would book with Points as soon as inventory opens up.
Good luck.
