Looking for info for a up coming trip to New England area. What would be
a good area and timeshare to trade into. More into food, sites and accesability. My wife is a shopper, I a people watcher.

It's a big area to cover. If you're interested in shopping, dining, shows, historical sites, you can't beat Boston. You can also use Boston as a hub to visit some other locations for day trips.

Hi, depending on what you want to see, Newport , Cape Cod, or the White Mountains are great places for a base . If you elect Newport RI, you can drive easily over into the greater Boston area and the Cape or visa versa. If you decide on NH in the White Mts area you can zip up to Maine and visit the southern coast or LL BEan in Freeport..... lots to see especially in the fall and summer months.

I agree,we need to know when you are visiting. We visit Newport at least twice a year, once in the summer and once off season. We also stay over in Boston once a year; always take in a game at Fenway, and enjoy so many other activities in the city. Maine's coast line can be beautiful and we have stayed there in the summer. We are trying to get to CT or MA as well for a week in the summer. Have teens.

I posted a help thread over in SPG/Starwood (because that's our trade), but it may be in the wrong place, but we are considering and SPG trade as well (so I think it does belong over there). The thread I posted was "Need help on vacation planning" http://tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=164591

Don't wanna hijack the OP's thread, but just wanted to let you guys know that others are looking for the information and suggestions as well but not not have the same interest as the OP.
However, would love to hear from some of the TUGGERS that have been there and/or very familiar with the TS properties there. :hi:

To the OP,
I have been looking through the resort reviews in the 'members only' section. There is some great info. there that might help you as well.

Hi, CT. is very limited in regards to timeshares. Water's Edge in Westbrook is a nice resort, but your chances of securing a trade in the summer is really zero to none. I suppose you could get lucky, but this is a resort I have tried trading into in the summer and never had luck. I also own Starwood and Wyndham and have membership in both RCI and Interval, and the best I have been able to do is reserve the week of Memorial Day. I have gotten that trade twice through RCI. I haven't stayed in a time share in Mass., when we go to Boston or to the Cape I have used Starpoints to stay in the Westin or in the Sheraton. Good luck and let us know if you secure a trade. Sue

Yah, we can use starpoints, that what we have done in the past, but it would be really nice to be able to use the TS we purchased instead of the starpoints we earn from our CC.

I am hoping we will get lucky enough.
