Independent timeshare with online booking?

Just wondering if there are any smaller independent timeshares that have online reservations systems? We own at the Palm Springs Tennis Club. A few years ago the management switched to Vacation Resorts International. At that time we received some information from VRI that indicated they would be implementing an online reservation system. However, to date, that has not happened. I would love to see it implemented as I think that some well known and/or long time owners may receive preferential treatment when it comes to booking preferred dates/rooms and may not have to adhere to the "rules" as most of us do. I could be wrong but if it were an online system it seems that there would be more transparency and everyone would be on the same playing field.

If anyone knows of independent timeshares with online reservation systems I would love to know what they are and if you happen to know which online "system" they use for the reservations that would be very helpful.

Hi @Suzannecm, I own two fixed week/fixed unit resorts with VRI. My info on the VRI portal says that the properties are not set up for online reservations. My reservations for my Island Gulf unit in Maderia Beach, Florida shows that I already have reservations booked up to 2025.

Thanks for your reply, Carol. The weeks that I own are deeded weeks but they are not fixed week/fixed unit. I have to reserve the weeks and units I want. I can do so at 11 months out. I do call at exactly the day and time allowed but I am rarely able to reserve what I want. I really wish they would implement an online system.

Gaslamp Plaza Suites in San Diego allows us book online but another that we deeded back does not.

I own a unit at Gaslamp Plaza Suites that's managed through VRI and they have online reservations. At Gaslamp you can books reservations 24 months in advance. I've usually been able to get a unit booked through the online system for the likely Comic Con week 2 years out. I called VRI to get the details on when the units become available - it's at 9:00am Eastern Time on the Friday of the week you want even though Gaslamp reservations are all Sunday to Sunday. One year I got through right at 9:00 and got my reservation, but they were sold out by 9:05.
