II Trade - Should I Wait?

I am trying to get a two bed Las Vegas starting April 5-7 for a week. There has been no availability but today I saw one at Polo Towers Suites. I was looking for a larger unit, but that would be OK. I would really like to get a two bed at the Marriott.

Here is my question - Am I looking too soon in the year, so I should wait? Should I grab the first one that comes by that meets my min qualifications because it will only get worse as the year goes on?

I don't know if people are just depositing and so it will be a few weeks until they show up to trade or is what I see not the best it will get.

Thanks in advance for your advice or experience.

Joe

you never know what you are going to get. you can toss the bird in the hand waiting for 2 more to come out of the bushes...but that doesn't always work.

you really should have requested what you wanted in advance rather than waiting to see what becomes available. that would have been ideal.

i settled for a 1BR at polo towers for december 2011 (waited last minute because i was using an AC). preferred the marriott but the polo towers worked out pretty well. a little closer to the strip and almost as nice accommodations for the most part...but it was a little more noisy (thinner walls IMO) - you do hear activity next door/upstairs, the heating system turning on, the garbage truck in the mornings. the lobby was also a little bit over-perfumed.

i'd take polo towers in your situation but you never know... (i stayed at the marriott in march 2010 and it was extremely nice.)

Remember - the online inventory is the leftovers after all the on-going requests have been filled.

The most effective way to get in exchange is to put in a request as early as possible. It's really late to look for a holiday week (Easter is April 8th.)

You should put in an on-going request immediately - you can still make an online instant exchange with a request in place, if a good one pops up.

Also, you can reserve a 1 bdm., continue to look, and if a 2 bdm. pops up, cancel the 1 bdm., pay another exchange fee, and reserve the 2 bdm.

Unless you only own a 1BR and are trying to trade up for a 2BR (Denise, hush ;)) you should do an ongoing request. Used my 2BR for my ongoing request, and voila, 4 days later I got my request filled. Happyhappyjoyjoy. Your mileage may vary...

I can see there is 2BR unit at MGC for your desired week when I search with a Marriott week. So put an ongoing search, it will give you the max. chance.
