The calls from Interval when one has a pending request are really, really annoying. Most of the time they just tell you that they are working on your request and ask you to take some other less desirable option. I'm wondering if the only way you can get upsized is by answering the incessent calls - I'm getting 3 a day!

I only answer when I know that my request is within that window (within 13 months) and I have a OGS for a resort with larger units that what I have put in for an exchange.

The last couple of times I get offers that are decidely downsizing. I currently have a request in for a one-bedroom at Marriott Surf Club Aruba, with some alternates of the same quality. They call me to offer a studio - "No, I need a kitchen", or a resort not on my list - "No that place is a dump." I keep telling them that I have plenty of time and am confident something will open up (we are looking at a shoulder week, so there is usually plenty of availability starting around April).

I used a 2 BR requested a 3 BR and put in to pay the upgrade fee along with my request. I was matched and charged the upgrade fee.

The problem is you can't say you would take a studio at X resort, a 1BR at X, Y and Z resorts and only a 2 BR at ZZ resort. If that is the situation you are in, you have to take the calls if you want to hear the options for smaller resorts that you might accept. I usually only requested what I wanted and the "options" which usually consisted of them pulling up my exchange request after we connected would be that they had no options and did I want to add any other requests. I have had them take me off the call list.

My experience is not listed on your survey. To upsize agree to pay the upgrade fee to a larger unit if it becomes available when you put your request in. I automatically receive upgrades this way.

If I want a larger unit then I deposited I choose resorts that only have larger units. With this method you are risking that you might not get a match if your smaller unit is not strong enough to get it.

Calls from II are to offer you requests not on your list. If you do not agree to pay the upgrade fee upfront when you place the request they would have to call you if it became available. I request everything and agree to pay an upgrade fee for a larger unit when I put my request in this I way I can ignore the II calls I receive.
