There have been much discussion on how and whether to bother to contact Marriott to add Marriott rewards number to an II exchange.

Here is an interesting thing that happened. I called the gold elite line to add my Marriott rewards number to my II exchanges and thereafter the reservations showed up in my Marriott rewards account. Good, right? When I received the pre-arrival emails from Marriott they were showing my Marriott reward numbers. Several days later I logged into my Marriott rewards account, and presto, the reservations have disappeared!

My guess is that Marriott is consciously removing II reservations from the Marriott rewards site.

Anyone else has the same thing happened?

I just checked mine and they were not removed. I have however stopped adding the number to the II reservations. The problem is when you change an II reservation they cannot take your number off the week you cancelled. Too much of an issue for me. I'll just give them my number when I arrive.

I had this happen on an XYZ reservation this past summer. I had added my MR number to the reservation. Then II did some kind of switcharoo and actually changed underlying week on the reservation. When I went in to My History and resent the confirmation, it had a different Marriott Confirmation number than the first exchange certificate had.

Do the same thing, go in to My History on II and resend the confirmation, see if it has the same Marriott Reservation number on it as the first one did that was on your original exchange. If they did, you could technically try to add your MR number to the new number.

I recently stayed two weeks at Manor Club....my rewards number was added to each reservation.
When I got the bill at the end of both weeks, the rewards number had been removed. I didn't notice the omission until I got home.
After three phone calls and two emails, I finally got elite nights credit for the two weeks. :annoyed:

The biggest problem with adding your number at check-in is that if you are Platinum you are not supposed to get your platinum arrival gift unless your number is on the reservation when you arrive.

Was this one (or consecutive) reservation(s) a single resort? Or multiple reservations at different resorts?

I've had one disappear when a resort starts the pre-arrival process for a stay that included multiple exchanges. I think it was because I had requested to stay in the same unit if possible, and they were slightly different unit types, so they had to change one reservation.

When I brought it to the attention of the resort, they were able to put it back on.

That's one possible explanation.

This has happened to me before. Not a MR issue. Its II changing the specific Inventory they are giving you for your exchange. You have to call them and get your the new Marriott confirmation # associated with your exchange. Then call and reattach it.
