II renewal discounts?

Went in to do an exchange and the two deposit I have there I will expire before July 2012. All good, went into use them but I have to renew in Feb. in order to use them! I am a Marriotts pts. owner now and have a free II account with Marriott and was not planning on renewing my old account.
Is my only course to use these deposit to renew?
Does anyone have any discount codes for renewal fee?
