Interval is offering an 'bonus week certificate' for 3 and 5 year renewals. Has anyone ever used one of theses? Are they like regular accommodation certificates? Does anyone know the typical expiration date of these certificates?

I think these types of certificates are usually restricted to only booking in Flexchange. Meaning you can only make a reservation with the certificate 59 days or less from the current date. I believe they expire one year from issue.

Is the promotion for basic or platinum renewal? I received one for renewing/extending my platinum membership. It occasionally sees a little more inventory than the freebies, but not enough to sway me to renew early again. I can’t make an exchange request either.

ETA- @dioxide45 is correct, mine is on a 60 day rolling window and expires 1 yr from when it was issued.

Thanks for the information. This would be for a basic renewal. Getting one of these does move the needle a little for making a decision on renewing for one or three years.

Last time I renewed I waited until close to renewal date and received an offer that was really low, I think 3 years for $109 or something.
You might try waiting unless the bonus week has value to you.

I have a question for anyone who has tried to use the 50% off a getaway that has to be used 59 days within check in. Are there location restrictions? My certificate was emailed to me and does not list any location restrictions, it says "regardless of the unit
size or location, with no unit week deposit required!" But when I called to use it today I was told there's a whole list of restricted properties and where I want to stay is on the list.

mine wasn't restricted on location, but it was 50% off, max $200, but still worth it.

I believe I have the same certificate but when I called to use it, they told me I couldn't use it in MGC.

You can check online by going through the booking process and at the payment page there will be a button to select to say if you want to use it for that transaction. About the only way to find out is to give it a go as II do so many different versions of discounts and promotions. As long as you don't pass the payment page and put in credit card info, you can back out without commitment.

I was under the impression I had to call to use this one. It doesn't show up online under My Certificates.

It won't be under My Certificates. It will be a radio button to select when you get to the payment page for the Getaway you are booking.

I agree, next time I'll hold out for one of those deals. The only resort not on the list that I would go to is in Costa Rica.
