I have an upcoming Maui trip for September 22nd ... I am coming from South Carolina. Of course I didn't bother getting E-Plus because why would I do that when I was trading a week in Orlando for a week in Maui.

So now looking at what is going on it seems more unlikely that the islands will be accepting tourists from the mainland by September.

I understand that I can do a re-trade now at full reservation. I am wondering if I can get E-Plus now with that?

Anybody have any idea how that would work. I haven't been able to find anything that explains how it works.

Thanks

If you retrade, you should be able to add Eplus to the new confirmation. Is the underlying week enrolled?

Yes it thanks ... my II trades have always been such upgrades that E-Plus has never been a consideration for me.

My comment that September 22 is 3½ months away was because I don't agree with your expectation that Hawaii will be shut down to travelers from the mainland that far out...

Yes, that would be my take as well. There are people still holding onto reservations for next month. I have a week for our daughter on Maui next month. Her family was so excited to go to Maui. I am very unsure of July, but September is far enough out that it might be okay.

We have two weeks at Marriott's Ocean Club, older towers, end of August-early September. Not sure that will work out, but I did put retrade on those weeks and will use it before 2 months to not lose my weeks to II's lousy idea of a worthless replacement week. So sick of II right now.

i had a similar situation. October 2019 I snagged a studio for June 26-July 3 at Ko Olina. I didn’t get eplus because I thought for sure we’d go and I was content with my exchange. Last Monday I called interval and spoke to an agent about the 14 quarantine and he helped me push out my reservation to August 30. No exchange fee. Upgraded to a 2 bedroom. So I was very happy. I asked him if he could help me with a March 28 trip I had a reservation at Mko but had to cancel due to covid 19. He gave me a number to supervisors desk and they changed my “AC with no fee”back into a regular exchange that I’ll have to pay the fee on. I’ll probably always pay for eplus in the future. Even if I have absolutely what I want because who knows when the next pandemic will happen.

Well today's news from the Governor isn't making me feel better. My plan is not to cancel but to retrade ... will I see better items with a retrade versus an AC?

The certificate is crap. You cannot get Hawaii with it. If you can find something online and ask for them to allow you to just move to that, that's your best bet.

We've done this on all trades since II added eplus. We have an exchange into Westin Nanea later this year; if we go, it'll be the first trip that we didn't use eplus.

Even when we were absolutely certain we were going, we added eplus; it paid for itself when we retraded. We always pass on the trip insurance since we view eplus as our "insurance".

Same here.

We have always paid for E-PLUS for every single Request [even before confirmation] ever since II introduced the option.
View it as cheap $59 insurance on a Multi-Thousand $ vacation.
Have almost always used it for 1 or 2 Re-Trades to either better Resort or Larger-Rooms.
Thus even if plans don't change and insurance is not needed it has always served for cheap upgrades.
