II Membership levels

We are getting ready to close on our timeshare and need to fill out our application for our II Membership. What is the difference between an Individual Membership and a Preferred Upgrade Membership? I can't seem to find the info. on their website.

Discounts on travel, dining, and hotels

Additional Exchange Options

Most of the recent discussions on TUG have suggested that the only really useful benefit is the $25 discount on Getaway weeks (offseason weeks that you can obtain, generally for about $400-$900). Here is one such discussion.

One other thing about the Preferred, Premier or Gold Memberships (all the same thing).

II is really sleezy about trying to sell these memberships. They send you bills like they would for your regular membership not indicating that this level of member is an additional membership and does not include the regular membership as part of this "premier membership".

I was searching threads to learn about the benefits of the Gold membership when I came across your post Bill.

I completely agree. I wonder how many people pay the darn thing without really looking at it and understanding that it is a solicitation for an upgrade.
