I was looking at Getaways on II site. It's less expensive for Gold Members. What do you have to do to be a Gold Member?

You have to pay extra to be a Gold Member of II---seems to me it's about 60 bucks.

I was a Gold member one year when I knew I was going to use at least 2 Getaways; which saved me $50.

I continue to use that rule---but haven't been a Gold member for a few years, since I haven't used more than one Getaway in any year.

We havent upgraded to Gold, and dont think we will, because we dont do alot of getaways on II, we usually use last call on RCI.

There are other discounts with the GOLD membership such as dining discounts (or buy one/get one free), movie discounts, etc. There are discounts are various local attractions (bowling, golf, etc) and even discounts to some Ticketmaster sales.

Unfortunately, I'm not very good at remembering to search for the discounts prior to going out. Once printed, they are only good for a couple weeks, so I can't print a bunch and stick them in a drawer (though I did use a few for discounts at some Willliamsburg area restaurants).

A Hertz Number One club membership is also included in the Gold Membership ($60 value).
