Is it worth the effort to get elite night credits and/or points for an II getaway at a Marriott/Sheraton/Westin timeshare?

It seems you can't apply your BonVoy number to a reservation yourself anymore, but have to call the resort directly (or do it at check-in). Can't even call Marriott to do it.
Then it probably won't post, and you have to jump thru hoops to get it posted. (I just completed a 7 night getaway at a Sheraton, and it didn't post.)

It seems the only downside to letting is slide it the possibility of missing out on the 50 night and/or the 75 night bonus.

(I did also just complete a regular MVC stay, and that posted fine.)

I've actually always applied mine on Mariott.com, not had an issue. I usually have to find the reservation first by clicking that link. Mine shows just fine on the website for my upcoming Kauai trip with my Bonvoy number.

Never had a problem with getting the elite line to add it.
Usually just wait a day or two after I get the getaway.

It's usually pretty easy to get elite credits for Marriott getaways. If they won't add your number in advance just do it at check in. It is the Vistana weeks that I usually end up giving up on.

I always get it no problem, I never have to even do anything it’s just linked, I’m in Europe maybe that makes a difference?

I used to be able to link Marriott getaways to my BonVoy account via the 'Search by confirmation' link under 'My Trips' in my BonVoy account. Now, while it will bring up the reservation, it won't link it to my account as it did before. Also, in the past, elite night credit and any points always posted automatically. I have 3 upcoming Marriott getaways, and I had to call the resort to get my BonVoy number linked to the reservation. Not sure yet if the elite night credits will post automatically.

I also had a Westin, a Vistana, and a Sheraton getaway, all completed. I had to call the resort for all of them to have my BonVoy number linked to the reservation.
The Westin didn't post automatically, and it took filing a missing stay request, followed by a 30 minute call to the elite line to get elite nights posted. They seem to treat the reservation like a 3rd party reservation.
Surprisingly, the Vistana did post automatically.
The Sheraton didn't post, and so far I haven't tried to get it posted.

It used to be so easy.

I wonder what the difference is then, strange. But I just did one and it worked for me. Wish I could help.

Whenever you get the pre arrival checklist email there is a section in the link to add your bonvoy number. No real effort there

Don't give up. I have a unit at the Sheraton Vistana in Orlando next month via an AC from Interval. I called Marriott and they could not add the unit to my Bon Voy account. It also would not add on the website because the reservation only has 6 numbers. Not to worry, I called the Vistana and they looked up the reservation, gave me the 8 digit number. The unit was added to my account immediately. They also sent an email. I requested to be placed in the newest section because we had a horrible unit last July with lots of problems. Those 7 nights will be added to your account.

I got a getaway to Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort in Cancun. How can I look up this reservation on Marriott site and add the BonVoy number? I have never had an issue adding the number if the reservation is MVC , even if a getaway , but how can I do this with a Westin reservation?

Interested as well. We stayed for 2 weeks in February, gave them our number but nothing has posted yet?

I called ahead to the Westin Ka’anapali and they connected my number to the reservation. I did receive my seven night credit.
