Hi All,

I read earlier in the month that its pretty much impossible to get Waikoloa Marriott exchange through II. With that in mind what are some things i can change my 1 or 2 BR Marriott Grand Chateau into Big Island that is decently nice and worth the exchange?

I saw Kona Coast wasn't bad - any other places that might be Toddler friendly pools or one of those waveless beaches because of rocks put in (like poipu as an example) to go to?

Thanks!

Edit: Makes me want to get a RCI Vegas trader since it seems like their options are much better for big island.

The Hiltons are great, but as you surmised, they're in RCI. They require about 42 TPU, so you'd need a high value trader. Kona Coast was nice when we stayed there 11 years ago, but it's not like a Marriott or a Hilton in terms of on-site amenities.

I could be wrong, but I thought that Waikoloa is 99% tied to points and was not sold as weeks. So, other Marriott points owners can book it, but very little inventory shows up into ii.

I've exchanged into Kona Coast 2 three times. It is a nice place. Kona Coast 2 is closer to the water but there is still a golf course between you and the ocean. Kona Coast 1 is slightly older and closer to the highway. I recall that they may have a garage. Perhaps KC1 was built as a condo, but that is just a guess.

Ok Thanks. I guess that explains the Waikaloa not being on II situatio then. And thanks for the Kona Coast Description.

King’s land? Do you know how many RCI points needed?

Sorry-didnt notice you said RCI points. Yes they're different. I can't answer your question about RCI points.

Hilton's in RCI also have daily resort fees now, except possibly a few like Waikoloa Bay Club.
