Not sure if I’m in the right forum. I put in four exchange requests for either 2 or 3 bedroom units for Thanksgiving week 2021.

Traded 1 worldmark 3 br
3 generations riviera maya
(I think all were riviera maya) I’ll have to check, but all were karisma Mexico resorts.

What do you think my
Chances are to getting 3 or
4 units There?

Well one thing you have going for you: You put in for it nice and early! 20 months in advance is unusual (and good planning).

3 or 4 units over a Holiday with no Marriott preference? My answer would be low. 1 unit would be a good trade but your asking for multiple units and during a higher demand Holiday week. I don’t see it happening. Sorry

Under Marriott preference, there are currently two for that week, but they check in on Thursday, and check OUT on Thanksgiving Day. This is clearly the least desirable option.

Thanks so much. I’m
Looking for 2021, but that helps
Me know what might come available. So do they hold those for Marriott owners only? When would They release
Them for other II members, of at all?

Hi Mel:
I had originally read your note a couple days ago, and just remembered the "Thanksgiving" part. ;)
In general, Marriott owners have had a preference period in II of approximately 3 weeks. There has been a recent announcement that Westin/Sheraton owners will now have a preference period, but there was no indication whether it was within that 3 week period or after. Yes, after the preference period, if the weeks have not been taken, they would appear for all II members.
In low demand seasons, there is no preference, and all weeks are available to all II members.

Nov 2021 should begin to appear 13 months out - approx Oct 2020.

Sorry for all the questions but I’m new to II. So the three week period means three weeks after they are deposited, they hold them for Marriott owners? Or some other three week period? Thanks so much for your time.

Correct. If the full preference period is enforced, the weeks will be visible online on Interval's website by other Marriott owners for approximately 21 - 24 days before they are visible to other II members.
