It has been so long since I placed a search with II....can't remember...if they find something is there a 24 hold period during which I can accept or decline the exchange?

Yes there is a 24 hour period. They will send you an e-mail when the exchange happens.

If there is an exact match to your request it will be auto confirmed and you will have 24 hours from that time to cancel with no penalty. You must constantly check your email for a confirmation in order to stay within the 24 hour grace period.
