We don't eat out very often but my buddy says that they liked this restaurant on Sanibel (see attached photo). Perhaps it's on Captiva?

I don't recognize it - do you?

TIA

Can you not ask your buddy?
Island Cow sounds right. Its okay... no "silver spoon" award, though.

It looks like the Island Cow.

The colours are right for the IC but the shadows aren't.

His photo (which he provided because he couldn't recall the name) shows a structure whose entrance is facing the sun. Since the Island Cow is on the south-westerly side of Periwinkle, its entrance would be in shade at mid-day when this photo was likely taken.

I had been thinking of the area on the north-east side of Periwinkle just before Palm Ridge but the roadway doesn't even have any traffic lines/markings on it which makes me wonder if it's even on Periwinkle. He also thought that they could walk to the beach across the street ... which again doesn't sound like a possibility if on Periwinkle and leads me to think Captiva.

The setting does look more like Captiva. Now I'm wondering if it's at Santiva-at Blind Pass. I can't remember the name of the restaurant. I think it's Sunset something, maybe Sunset Grille?

I google it and Sunset Grille is the name I was trying to think of. We've stayed at the house directly across the street from it and eaten there a few times.

Are you going down in Nov? We are going the first week of Nov. and staying until Dec. 10th. This will be the first time in a few years that we will be there for the luminary, one of my favorite things.

Yep, it's the Sunset Grille alright - confirmed by the photo in the review on TripAdvisor which indicates that it's on Pine Avenue, near Blind Pass. Will have to try it ... thanks!

We have an exchange on Longboat for the last week in Nov and then move to Sanibel for our usual weeks at Tortuga Beach Club on Dec 2, just in time for Luminary Night, which we enjoy every year along with the Christmas concert at Big Arts.

Thanks again!
