Hello,

I am staying in Stowe vermont at the trapp family lodge next week check in saturday to saturday at the guest houses. I have spent time in vermont in the past but it was prime ski season, which this isnt. I checked the status of trapp today and it stated there is no snow at the lodge and maple sugar season has officially started.

I am looking for ideas on what would be great activities for my children ages 3 and 5.

Thanks for all and any tips and suggestions!

Morse Farm, Montpelier, is great for the maple sugaring and other activities.. (Look up on-line). If you want to drive up to Jay Peak, there is a brand new indoor water park that I heard is fantastic and open to the public. In Burlington, there is the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum geared to kids and the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory.
There is the Eden Dog Sledding (with wheels) - they might be a bit young for that, not sure...There's always the Stowe bike path, the movies, etc.

The Maple Sugaring Tour at Trapp should be great fun. We took the winter version - all explanation, no action. You should see the action, including the sugar house in operation.

The Highlanders are down the road at the farm. Very friendly animals.

As you probably know, there are activities for kids at the Mountain Kids Club (http://www.trappfamily.com/activities/kids).

The Cabot Outlet and candy store nearby may interest the children long enough for you to shop. You might also try the Apple Cider and donut shop.

If you think your kids are interested, try Ziemke Glass Blowing Studio when the guys are working. We saw young children sitting, absolutely enthralled by what they saw.
