many think the stock market is 'over valued' but shorting the market is still trying to time the market - usually doesn't work

I manage the money in my kids 401ks (after all it was me who funded them). Near the end of 2019 I moved everything into a Short Duration Bond Fund. YTD it has earned 5%. I don't know how they achieved this unless they sold much of their portfolio as interest rates fell. For the prior year of so they earned in the range of +/- 1%...

Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't. When it works out you feel pretty good. When it doesn't work out you might feel very bad for a long time, lol.
