On Christmas Eve afternoon I went to Kohl's for one quick thing, a shirt for DS, but walked past the fuzzy pajamas which DD and I just love. They were marked with very low "Early Bird" signs intended for AFTER Christmas, but they honored the posted prices AND my expiring-Dec-24 30% off and Kohls Cash. I called DD, who agreed with the that there's no such thing as too many warm fuzzy pjs, especially for about $10 a set!

I just love the way they combine sale prices and coupons etc! I was last out of the door, with a bag as big as Santa's.

Oh yeah, I did remember the shirt for DS :)

Do you have a sleigh? I'll leave out some milk and cookies. ;)

No need to bake them - my idea of yummy is raw cookie dough, just about any kind!

Tsk, Tsk, bad girl. Contains raw eggs. Great carrier of salmonella. Don't do it.

Were you ever a child?

Sometimes, you just gott'a throw caution to the wind...
Run your fingers around the the cake mix bowl, scrape
the goop off the beaters and drink homemade egg nog.

Yeah, yeah, I know. My kids are horrified when I go for the raw stuff. I use egg-beaters instead of the real thing, so I guess I'm ok.

Yep - I remember those days, before egg-beaters, when my father baked up a storm for the months before Christmas, and I was always there for the beaters and bowl. Plenty of homemade egg nog with real eggs too.

I guess those days are over now, I use the pasteurized stuff instead and haven't had homemade egg nog in decades.

PS - My sister liked raw meat-loaf with ground beef, pork, and veal and raw eggs in it.

There was an article recently that the FDA (I think) was considering asking manufacturers to adjust how they make the dough, and also reclassify it as being a 'ready to eat' item. Apparently there are lots of people (myself included) that get very few actual cookies out of the dough :)
