I vote this the Tug Official motto

Or my favorite quote, attributed to Ben Franklin,
or Abraham Lincoln,
or Mark Twain,
or Samuel Johnson,
or somebody else.

But I'm pretty sure somebody said it:

"It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

That is an excellent quote IMHO.

According to quoteinvestigator.com it first appeared in print in 1907 in
"Mrs. Goose, Her Book” by Maurice Switzer.

It is perhaps a reflection of this Biblical passage:
Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and
He that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.
-- Proverbs 17:28

Good find. I’ve heard the quote forever, but never had any idea where it originated. In one form or another, it’s attributed to a lot of people.
