I tried to cut my hair.

So I tried to cut my hair in front of a mirror. In movies you see people pulling bullets out of their bodies using a small mirror so using the large mirror I gave it a try. I can tell you it is harder than it looks. The result is my hair isn't in my eyes but my cuts were a bit to high. I created an area above my brows that goes up a bit higher than I thought it would. Oh well.

I use a Norelco or a Bic.

I can do OK on mine (long, layered, bangs) and DS and DH for an in between trim. practice makes perfect! but, hopefully not for too many trims due to necessity.

If you are used to doing it yourself great. Many of us aren't. And yes I know you're going to ask why we don't just do it all ourselves. Maybe we're just girly girls.

I have been doing in-between grey touch-ups for about 2 decades now. I only started cutting and highlighting my hair about 2 years ago when I could not find someone here who does it the way I like. I am comfortable with the scissors but the first time I tried highlighting my hair I was a little anxious. Now it is a piece of cake.

I know my formula as my hairdresser gave it to me for when I travel. I just ordered what she uses on me. Time to see if I learn how to do it professionally like you.

I was due for a haircut on March 19, but cancelled that the day before as it started to hit the fan. My Feb. 12th haircut, the first with a new hairdresser, was beautiful, but three weeks later I realized he'd given me "perfect hair" when I usually get my hair cut "too short", and "perfect" doesn't happen for two weeks. So I was already shaggy at the five week appointment I cancelled. Thank goodness I stopped coloring it two years ago. My main issue is that even though my hair is short, it is long enough to be really "bed heady" when I wake up. I've taken to putting a small amount of styling foam (which I don't use; foam is probably 10 years old) in my wet hair then slicking it back and adding a headband I bought two weeks ago. Then I let it air dry smooth to my head, rather than adding any lift with a blow dryer. That more or less keeps it from getting too wild overnight. I need to call my previous gal to get on her schedule, I guess in June, because the new guy made no allowances for my bad back at all and I was miserable at the shampoo bowl.

Yup. I should have thought to use his scissors. They are better than the Harbor Freight 2 for a dollar ones I used.

It was about 43 years ago for me. Shoulder length hair to no hair. Hooah. Oddly, that short hair style is in style these days.
