Hello all,
A company out of E. Miami, FL, named 100% Management, Inc., wants to buy my Timeshare with Vidanta and create a Trust Account naming me as the beneficiary. Is anyone familiar with this company or has sold their timeshare in this manner?
Thanks,
Warren Baxter

Sounds like Voodoo economics to me. Keep in mind that most timeshares are worth little or nothing. Additionally you only own a RTU (right to use) in Mexico. You don't actually own any timeshare in Mexico.

RUN as fast as you can and don't get involved with this new scam.

They called you out of the blue? They want to buy it but name you as beneficiary seems to not make sense. Pay no fees to anyone.

I have a beach front property in Nevada to sell to you at a discount!! Did that sound like a scam? It should. Same thing with the call you got.

BTW, if you want to get rid of a vidanta timeshare, just ignore it and it goes away. Vidanta is right-to-use and you only pay when you go there. So, for the sake of your wallet, don't try to sell it, you will be scammed.

Welcome to TUG @Akiera2001 - you will get good information here all telling you this is a scam. Good you found TUG. Even in plain English the whole part about the beneficiary doesn't make any sense. Walk away and you will find a lot of information about what you own and how not to own it if that is what you want.

It probably is a scam--BUT I need to know more information.
OP said they called and wanted to BUY his timeshare.
Are they going to pay him--or does he have to give them money to purchase it?

I assume they want money from OP, will form a trust so he can keep using it, but when he has had enough or dies, the trust will terminate?

Welcome to TUG @Akiera2001

There is no legitimate business who will call you out of the blue to do anything with your timeshare, whether they claim they want to buy it, rent it out, or sell it.

Block the number.

Do NOT answer phone calls from numbers that are not in your contacts. If it's anything important, the caller will leave a voice mail.

Nobody calls a Mexican RTU holder out of the blue to buy his or her timeshare. This is a common scam. And the caller is not going to pay the OP any money. The caller will say (lyingly) "The deal is done. We just need you to send X amount of dollars to the closing company to finalize all the paperwork and transfer."

You know the rest.

It costs thousands in fees to set up a legitimate trust. Maybe that's the angle they'll try to use to swindle the owner before they hit them with the other standard excuses like "excise taxes", "lawyer fees", "escrow fees", "settlement fees", "transfer fees"...

It is not Probably a scam, it absolutely is a scam. There is no trust, there will never be a trust. At some point they will ask OP for some fees so they can get him his fake sales money. Why are you ignoring all the other posts? You are a Tug member and have been on this BBS for over a dozen years. How can you not absolutely know this is a scam?

100 percent likely to be a scam. How much are they offering to pay you to “buy” this timeshare? At some point they’re going to start coming at you for upfront fees that they promise you that you will get back. That’s the scam. You won’t get it back. They won’t actually buy your timeshare.

Obviously I would never give money to any of these places.

Thanks for all the replies and for keeping me from getting SCAMED. It's excellent being a TUG member!!
No problem! Be aware that this probably will not be the last scam phone call you get claiming they can sell or rent out your TS for big bucks. You are probably now on a "sucker list" as an easy target for this timeshare resale and rental scam.

Also, watch out for the other scams out there such as ones claiming they can get you out of your TS pain-free when you no longer want it.
