As most of you know I am out on permanent disability due to my leg. When I went to the Dr my blood sugar was out of wack, scarey wackey. I had just started a work out program on my own, but this scared me so bad that I got a personal trainer. I absolutely refused to be bedridden!!
My goal was to hike Bushkill Falls. There was no way I could do the expert trail which had over 1200 steps but I did do the intermediate trail which still had a gazillion trips. Kelli was begging me not to do it but I asked her to stay with me and not take off and leave me. I took the cane and off we went. It took a long time because I don't do steps well. I rested when I needed to because my leg and back was killing me, but then I realized altho I was hurting, I WASN'T huffing and puffing for breath. That was a great feeling!! When I got done I let out a shout of joy!! Kelli was very proud of me, heck I was proud of me!!
I still can't sit too long or walk too far but I am making progress and I really enjoy working out. My trainer is very careful about my leg and elbow. After workouts he stretches my left arm and it is now almost as long as my other one and I can hold more weight (between 3 & 5 lbs) When I first started I could not hold any weight at all in my left arm. It was almost 4 inches shorter but now is almost even.
I hope I'm not being boastful , I am just so darn happy !!!:whoopie: shaggy
