I became a HGVC lover. I am a believer.

I purchased almost all my HGVC weeks at affiliates to use at the resorts and not within the HGVC system. I purchased one extra one at Anderson for 8400 points as the price was great. Recently I was thinking of selling it but as of now I have changed my mind.

The HGVC stars have been alligned for me this year so far.

I decided not to go to Disney for the two weeks that I had planned this month in February . I checked the HGVC site occasionally and up popped a week at South Seas Captiva and another at Sunset Cove Marco Island. Thrilled I was.

I will be going to Florida in March too and this morning I was able to get Eagles Nest Marco Island. Usually I see good weeks, short term in II or RCI but not this year. This year HGVC came to the rescue.

@Panina I’m so happy you got those weeks! It’s on my bucket list to go to a couple of those resorts. In my short time with HGVC, I too feel it’s a great way to vacation and am spoiled by the these resorts! The flexibility and comfort make me feel right at home. I can’t wait until we can use the program to it’s fullest potential.

@Panina is not one of us “points are points” people, but the plus units at Anderson Ocean Club are fairly high on the mf/point ratio list. In truth, she is straddling the fence.

On the other hand, her owning the FL affiliates to use them is a good move for her.

@escanoe @GT75 you both made me smile. I will never be a points are points person. I still feel own where you want to go but my Anderson week was a guaranteed July 4 week at 8400 points, great price, with low mf, so I broke down. Even I couldn’t resist! Now I am sitting on the fence fishing for the Marco, Captiva and Sanibel weeks. So far real happy. I can understand why most say points are points.

I personally feel that having a mix of buy to use and then max these mini systems is the way to go
at least for me. I do still enjoy II's exchanges but RCI has soured me on things a bit.
I own mostly Orlando stuff including my HGVC but rarely use them there.
I only use my DVC in Orlando.

HGVC is wonderful if you live in FL and like the beach.
I got 2 great ressies this year in the club fairly easily online in Marco & Fort Myers.
I'm definitely still in the happy camp.

We joined HGVC in 2001. Timesharing is fun. Glad to know that so many other Tuggers are having some good times. You have been a great source of information.

I am thrilled, the Flex weeks I own have matched my requests within the resorts Eagles Nest and Surf Club, Marco Island. I don’t have to wait for the 9 months out to see if I could get January and February 2021. I am all set just using my home resorts.

We are new owners having bought Flamingo on the resale market last year. We have made two reservations for later this year using points and stayed at Elara for two nights using open season. Nice resort that we enjoyed. We also just reserved two nights in April at Trump International using open season. I would estimate we saved approximately 50% on both open season reservations. It’s nice having that option for staycations here in Las Vegas.

I just rented a Charter Club unit for the second week in January. I’m thinking about purchasing there because I have sisters buying condos and houses there. Does anyone know how hard it would be to get the second week in January on an annual basis? An employee at Charter Club said I would not get it every year, but the seller said she gets it every year. Don’t know who to believe. I can stay for free to one of my sister’s condos outside of “snowbird” months, so I don’t want to purchase if I can’t get January almost annually. Thx in advance. I also purchased 7000 Flamingo points this year and haven’t used any yet.I plan to use them in Hilton Head next September. (If this should be a new post, please let me know. Thx)

I managed to snag an end of April check in at Eagle's Nest. With the bundle of points we will all have in 2021, it's nice to find these nuggets.

We bought W 57th St to own where we want to go but this has been a tough year for that.
