I am pretty angry with II! I wait on hold for 20 minutes, then the guy goofs up!

I got a confirmation at 12:40 a.m. Eastern Time this morning, called tonight at 7:30 p.m., Eastern Time to tell them the match doesn't work for us. I called while we were on the way to dinner.

The "match" was a 3/30 2 bed for Kahana Villas on Maui. This is the lowest rated Maui resort on TUG but I would have taken it, because I am not picky and think the resort is just fine. If only this came through two weeks ago! We made alternate arrangements for our Maui trip.

II didn't come through for us in time at all for any of our three Maui weeks this year. :(

I had to wait on hold to get to the Starwood desk for a total of 20 minutes, then the guy goofs up and gives me a replacement week and keeps my exchange fee, apparently, because that's what a replacement week means: loss of exchange fee and loss of time to use the week.

This is a 2 bed SBP! I am so angry, I cannot tell you. We have family here from out of town this week, and I am frazzled, so dealing with this is no fun.

When is II going to have a button for us to push to cancel a held week? RCI has the ability to cancel anything online. This is ridiculous.

So now I have to battle II tomorrow, while taking my sister around to visit other family. I am so grouchy. :crash:

I had this issue several months ago. At the time, I let it go, kept the replacement week which exchanged as well as my original week and had the same expiry date. This was after some battling with them, and they put a note in my file that I had a credit with them for an exchange fee. I was assured that the replacement week was the same as my original week.

A few months later, I used the replacement week to confirm something online. When I decided within 24 hours I wanted a different week that was available online and I called in to sort that out with Interval, basically cancel and then take the other exchange I was told that since it was a replacement week, I couldn't cancel it without losing it. It took over an hour and three different people up the food chain to basically have the give me a new AC which they used to confirm the week I wanted.

I was told it was a "one time exception" which created another transfer to somebody higher up the food chain to complaint that it was their screw up initially that caused the problem and I did not want notes in my file that indicated I was given any favours. Now they probably have a note in my file that I am a total beyotch - LOL.

Just a heads up. I remember at the time I posted about it and you suggested to fight tooth and tong to get my original week back - should have listened to you and hopefully you won't have the same problems.

I HATE phoning RCI or Interval.

Whenever I can I try to cancel on the phone while I am online. When the agent finishes I ask the agent to hold while log out and back into my account to make sure everything is back in place. I agree to hold for the survey and am usually complimentary to the agent but express my disappointment that I can't cancel within 24 hours online. I also send this comment to the online customer service if for some reason (happened twice) I am not connected to the survey.

It is a complete waste of our time and the agents' time.

How did you make out, Cindy? Get it all straightened out, I hope.

You know, I am not sure. They were trying to extend the replacement week to the date of my SBP expiration, but because of the problem with your replacement week, I told them I didn't want to lose any trading or canceling ability.

She said they would give me an Accommodations Certificate instead, which supposedly has the same trading power. We will see. I tested it today, but not much on II to test. I was in Estes Park most of the day, anyway.

I am disappointed in II for this trip anyway. Maui Lea came through from TP Maui, and RCI came through for our third week. II kept matching me to resorts that aren't close to the supposed quality rating of SBP.

At least next year all of our trips are covered with owned weeks. No more counting on exchanges for me.

Interval is very disapointing if you are trying to trade outside of your resort brand. Much as I appreciate Marriott to Marriott priority, and I am sure you like the Starwood to Starwood preference, it makes gettin any kind of exchange mostly impossible, if you are trading outside your resort brand. My WM points, which trade just as well as Hyatt (in my oppinion) show everyting available on-line whenever I am searching, and I can get some great exchanges, but my ongoing searches, to say a Marriott or Hyatt or Starwood, never get matched, not even in flex time. I've had a trade request in II with my WM points for Easter week this year at any of the Marriott's in Hilton Head. Nothing, in almost 8 months of waiting, and I am in flex time, now and have been for the past month. Lucky for me, I got an Easter trade into Surfwatch with my Willowridge week back in July of last year, but I have kept my WM trade request going to see if I can get a bigger unit or another unit. I have no doubt that trade request will go unmatched, and I will let it go until it cancels a day or two before check-in.

With RCI everyone seems to be on equal ground. Even people who own junk weeks in Orlando and Branson and other high supply areas who don't own a name brand resort can combine weeks and get the best stuff in RCI. Not true in II. Only thing that matters in II is owning within the brand you want to trade into and even then, it is iffy.
