I am amused when I see 25,800 Flex points for sale.

Amused but I also feel bad for the owners. Why would Vistana sell 25800 points to anyone but more importantly, why would anyone buy that amount of points?

There are 9 resorts in the Sheraton Flex program. However, with only 25,800 points one would be able to make a Home Resort reservation at only 4 of those resorts and that reservation would need to be in the off season. smh

mmm i guess for folks who have units that yield 97,500 points it may get you to the next tier at some resorts in vistana?? Definitely not the usual amount though

Vistana once upon a time tried to sell me at package that was under 30K Aventuras points so that I could convert the points to SPG points, plus the offer of future cheap SPG point packages. I think it was for $8,900 or something like that.

I thought the same thing when I saw that two days ago.... “who the heck would buy that from Marriott?!” Then immediately thought, someone most likely Bought enough to buy at the resort they were at like a SBP.

With Flex Points you can also book fewer than a full week.

Yes it is truly unfortunate to see this. I wish there was a more ethical framework in this industry. When you hear the stories of others, and, personally after going to updates, it is amazing what people are prepared to say to get business done.

I considered buying a few small packages like this, resale of course, as it could be a way to save on housekeeping charges. I did the math though and determined it is still more expensive, MF wise, than owning a 2BR 81K SVV.

Small flex packages can be a good way to add on a few days to a regular SO or week reservation - but they are expensive on a MF basis.

I would bet it is not the case here though. Because it is an Ebay ad, probably a person who could not afford it paid an important deposit and signed up for a monthly plan plus the annual MF and VSN fees. After a while he realized the scam but it was too late. Not knowing what to do he got caught in the second scheme, an exit company. After paying another fee he is hoping to get rid of the liability. Unfortunately the odds are slim, who is going to buy that number of Flex points?. Very sad.

Another problem with this auction is that it seems that they want reimbursement of 2020 fee for 2020 usage. I don't know the current Flex MF per point, but it looks like the fee could also include the VSN fee?

I believe SFlex is around $0.015/point so I’m sure the reimbursement amount does include the VSN fee for 2020 even though this would not be in VSN. To be fair I’ve noticed this problem with a lot of voluntary Vistana TS on eBay.
