Does anyone have experience with WinpointVIP? I am seeing this come up on Ebay. The claim as I understand it is that you don't buy a deed or have maintenance fees. You buy a point package and get VIP booking privileges and point breaks, but you have to pay $6 per 1000 pts to book the actual vacation and you can't roll unused points or use them for anything other then actual time at the resorts.

Has anyone used this? It seems that having to pay the $6 per 1000 points is pretty much the same or more then the yearly maintenance fees, so not sure why this would be better?

Would love feedback on this one.

Thanks!

If you consider that you aren't paying MF on points you don't use, that part of the deal seems worthwhile. The buy-in amount seems prohibitive to me.

You also get VIP benefits like a certain number of free guest certs, hk, and transaction fees plus automatic upgrades and discounted booking for short notice trips. On years when you aren't travelling to Wyndham properties you won't have to worry about the wasted MF or renting out to cover your expenses.

The website says "if available" in terms of VIP privileges, so not sure how often they would be available.

I guess the part about not paying fees on points you don't use makes sense, and if you got VIP privileges even a few times per year it's better then not having them or having to pay the developer for them.

Has anyone on TUGS actually used this service or bought points from them? I guess I would also miss not being able to log into the system myself to look at inventory.

There are two parts to Mike's service. Or better stated two groups that he serves. One is folks like the op that want to vacation at Wyndham resorts at VIP prices without the hassles of ownership. And the other group is folks like me that are platinum VIP owners with points to spare

I provide the points so mike can make your reservations. You only pay for the points that you use. And he almost always gets the VIP discount but as you have learned that's not guaranteed any more than it would be guaranteed if you were a VIP owner yourself

If you were to become a Winpointvip "passport" member it's quite possible that your reservations will be made in my account

Just out of curiosity, at what point are you able to spare such points? Are you able to attempt "full profit" rentals and rely on Mike as a backup if they fall through?

I will never, never, be a renter, but the process intrigues me.

(If you were to PM me the answer, I wouldn't share it) :)

raygo123,
Maybe you just don't know how to use your membership fully. Maybe you should take some time reading for a few hours rather than skimming the latest and offering your 2 cents.

We "bought" into WinPointVIP a few years back and are very satisfied. Extremely so given the back-and-forth changes Worldmark has made regarding Pagosa Springs during the same time period. ;-) Mike and his team have been easy to work with and have not failed to get the reservations we requested.

For us, a 250k WinPointVIP package is a good fit for adding "just enough" Wyndham access to our existing Worldmark and other properties.

It's nice to read a comment from a satisfied customers. WinPointVIP comes up here often enough, but I find very little feedback from actual users.

I started using points managers when I was adding points faster than I was growing my rental business. I dont remember exactly when my ownership got too big for me to handle by myself; but I went from 3 million to 30 million points very fast.

I dont own 30 any longer. (The new prices on ebay were too much for me to resist) but I still use WinPointVip to manage the bulk of what I have, while I wait for prices to increase even more

Its been an interesting 5 years.... one day maybe Ill write a book

We will all need "code names" in the book, Ron!

I choose "Angelina" ...

I have a name for it already!
