Hi everyone!

My Mother-in-law is offering us to use 1300 of her hyatt portfolio points that she transferred to II. They expire on Nov 19 and she has no use for them. We are trying to book a cruise but unfortunately the cruise reservations department is closed on the weekend. Being new to this I just have a question. When on II, we click on the cruise we want, and regardless if the price is $10k for 2 people or $40k (Presidential suite lol), it says we only need 1250 portfolio points.

This Exchange requires: 1250 Vacation Points

^^ This is what is says on II when we get to the booking page. Now I am trying not to be a fool and that seems wayyyy too good to be true. So what am I missing here?

I'm thinking that the cash amount you're seeing is IN ADDITION TO the 1250 points. The points simply reduce the overall cost a bit, and it only shows 1250 points because that's the most you have available in increments that they deal with.
