We recently exchanged into a Hyatt resort and while there were told by a sales rep that one can only exchange into a specific Hyatt Resort once every four years per rules set up by II and Hyatt. Is that true? Also, he wasn’t sure if they track it by II membership or resort that one uses for the exchange. Any insights would be appreciated.

Best regards.

To help. Question: I take it then that you must NOT be a member of the Hyatt Resident Club ?

This will help get you the correct answer.

So until someone that actually knows the answer you seek, be aware that Hyatt Resident Club members can not trade their weeks or points through II for use at any Hyatt resident club either. Thus we members would be very unlikely to become familiar with a provision like that since we can not even try to do it.

But it sounds possible.

Also it’s been my experience that when restrictions like you ask about, when in place, are usually fully detailed and disclosed in the details and fine print of the description of the II resort listing that your trying to trade into. I would think then it should be disclosed on the resort listing pages that is offered for exchange. Did you look there for such a policy disclosure ?

So, does anyone know the actual answer to the question.

The 1 in 4 rule is more of an RCI thing. I am not aware of any such rules in II. I wouldn't rely on a sales rep for this information, but rather from II iteself.

Thanks all who responded. We are not Hyatt owners. As suggested I will contact II and see if they can provide any insights.

Best regards.

I called II and they forwarded me to Hyatt. The Hyatt rep, who has worked there for about 6 years, said she 8s not aware of any such rule. If the inventory is in II you have access to it.

Best regards.

That's what I guessed, but did not say it because I did not know for sure. And I did assume that you would figure out that you just needed to call II or Hyatt. Good Luck.
