Hurricane Jova and PV

Any first hand observations as to what is going on in PV relative to the approach of Jova?

We just Skyped with our friends who are there now. They said that broadcasts are being made over load speakers and windows are being taped up. But, they don't seem overly worried. We fly in on 10/13, so we sure hope all is going to be okay. Seems like rain and wind. I don't mind either when in PV, but not while in the plane!

Our primo who now lives in Bucerias and Manzanillo says its cooling off in Bucerias with wind and rain. The storm is heading toward his beach condo in Manzanillo and is then heading to his house in Bucerias by Wednesday.

Its going to be a cat 4 event when it hits land with wind speeds of 125 to 170. He said its going to flood the area and knock down alot of structures. Their also expecting huge surf and power outages.

Looks like they're about to get hammered. And theres another storm behind it. Not good..

The condo in Manzanillo has flooded and is damaged. Its right on the ocean.

Thanks for the updates and link to the cam. I've got a friend in PV, and last night he said he was hunkering in, but have not heard from him today.

We're headed to Lindo Mar in 2+ weeks.

There's a very active thread on Trip Advisor Forums. Last update about an hour ago was light, steady rain, no wind to speak of, surf maybe a teensy bit highter than usual.

‎9AM Jova Update. windspeed now at 75 MPH the news keeps getting better.

I´m in PV

People here yesterday were very concerned about hurricane, taping windows and sandbagging. I´m at Villa del Mar and happy to report hurricane was a bust. No high winds to speak of and today, just scattered showers. Come on down.

Hurrican Jova is no more. The hurricane died before it was anywhere near Bucerias. We are back to normal. Sun, Sand, Corona
