We have upcoming reservations at Clearwater Beach and wondering if anyone who had reservations over the weekend or this coming week have been contacted by Wyndham. Any information of when it may be open - or reopen? I called Wyndham today and no one answered at the Resort. And then called Presidential Reserve and they had no information if was open or closed, or if the resort was closed if points would be returned. Anyone else received any update from Wyndham?

Coastal Florida from Sarasota to the panhandle is a mess right now. Everyone had all time record storm surges and flooding. I'm sure the resort at Clearwater is fine, there are no units on the first floor. But the check-in desk, pool, bar, restaurants, etc are on the first floor and probably got considerable damage. And the roads in and out of the beach were damaged, but I hear they are open.

Emergency responders have enough on their hands right now, they don't need extra people there in their way. And also you can bet most, if not all the restaurants on Clearwater and surrounding beaches are going to be closed for a while, so not a great time to be there anyway

The Club Wyndham in Clearwater is also set back quite a way from the ocean. A long way.The first floor is also the parking garage and the pools, lobby and other amenities are up a full level if not more. It would have taken a lot of surge to impact more than just the parking garage. That said, there is probably still a lot of cleanup to be done.

This is very true, and often difficult for people eager for their vacation to accept.

Those of you just dying to go to Clearwater beach, even if the resort is open and available, there isn't going to be anything for you to do up and down the coast, including the beach. All of the restaurants are closed. You will be miserable and in the way of first responders. Reschedule your vacation.

Also they aren't even letting anyone on Clearwater Beach, apparently unless you live there, or have a specific (non-vacation) need to be there.
