Hi there, we will be checking into the Highlands Inn in Carmel next week, and we have been told we will be in building three in an upstairs unit. Does anyone with experience there know whether those are nice rooms for ocean views?

You'll have a very nice view looking toward Point Lobos State Park and--off in the distance--Pebble Beach. I prefer the view from Building 4 looking south toward the cove, but it's just a personal preference. All in all, if the weather is nice and you're not hit with the "June gloom" which causes overcast skies for much or all of the day, I think you'll love it.

300 series upper level could be ocean view units 312-218 or it could be a garden view (322) or a horizon view (323-325).

All the 312-318 views are going to be excellent.
We are told we are in 312-318.
By the way, there's live music in the lounge at Pacific's Edge Bar and Restaurant on Thursday and Saturday nights. It's just a wonderful way to spend an evening as you watch the sunset. Enjoy!

Super thanks so much. I will try to post a view pic and room number. Maybe people can post theirs too for future reference.

I've stayed behind that building twice. I don't have any pictures but the view is nice. There isn't really a bad unit at the entire resort. Some are much better than others. But none are bad. (Not like being in Sedona with a view of a cell tower, or Key West with the airport next door.)

Thank you!
I can’t find a photo.

But the reason I like the unit: townhouse style, good view convenient to parking with no steps to enter unit, close to hot tub and laundry.

It has been my experience that in an exchange that the unit number that shows up on the ii History is the one that I'm assigned. I have also found that true 8 out of 8 times with Hyatt Pinon Pointe.

We did notice while we were there that there are a few “landlocked” units with no view at all, that simply look at the building in front of it.

This is the southern-facing view from Unit 439. Unfortunately, it was an overcast day, but as @ScoopKona ona mentioned, the views from the 400 buildings are not blocked by trees with great views of the rocky Central California coastline.

A few years ago, the resort significantly pruned the trees. This significantly improved the view from many rooms.
