I'm visiting at my daughter's house and wanted to use her printer from my laptop. Figured I could download a printer driver since she doesn't seem to have the software. Surprised to learn it (Photosmart 3210) is no longer supported on the HP site. Web references lead to a 'pay for' diagnosis product, no guarantee printer driver will be available.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Plug in the printer to your USB. Windows should find an appropriate driver.

Sometimes you have to delete a driver in order to force Windows to find a compatible one. Obviously, the computer has to be online while plugging the USB printer into it. These settings are found in the Control Panel> Devices box.

Here's the routine commonly used:

Go to Control Panel, select Device Manager

In Device Manager select "Printers"

See if your printer is listed, if so, select the printer, then right click

Select "uninstall driver" then "scan for hardware changes"

When the printer becomes listed you may need to select "update driver software"
