I just got off the phone with owner services and I could not make sense of their answers, which seemed to vary as the call proceeded!

1. Can I sell these restricted points on the 'Vacation Point Exchange' website or elsewhere?

2. Can these restricted points be used for resort credit for un upcoming stay next month? If so, can I wait until I arrive at the resort or do I have to call owner services now?

3. I actually like the options under the tab titled 'Hotels and Luxury Residences' For example, Moab, UT where I can get 2 nights at the Marriott Fairfield -which often costs ~$300/night- but I could not get a clear answer on whether the actual 2-night stay had to be before 12/31/24 or just the reservation had to be made before that date and the stay could be in early 2025.

Resort credit details are under the menu: USE POINTS> Exchange Options > Cruises, Hotels, and More > Resort Credit. Enter your resort name for details of participation. You need to call and exchange before your visit then validate at the concierge.

Also check out available Destination Escapes (login required.) 720 points will get you 4 nights in a 2BR.

No, you can't transfer Holding Account points.

Absolutely, yes...I've done it many times when I had points in holding. And yes, you need to call owner services before the beginning of your stay so the resort credit can be attached to your reservation (though note that not all MVC resorts take resort credits).

The stay has to start no more than 60 days out and before 12/31/24...just the same as if it were a normal MVC reservation. Or II reservation for that matter...while you can't deposit holding points you can use them to make reservations on II that start within 60 days (though you have to call).

I once used holding points to stay at at the JW in Chicago. Not a good use of 'normal' points, but a perfectly reasonable one for holding points.

While you can’t rent your points, you can make a reservation and rent that or list the offer to make the reservation.
