Aloha,
I tried searching in forums but can't find answers for my friend who is checking out of WKORV in 36 hours but has $440 in room credits to spend, but they don't like massages so spa now or spa gift certificate for next year is a no go. They just found out those room credits can't be used to pay their nightly taxes. He tried talking to GM and concierge to get gift certs for whale watch or helicopter ride next year, but no dice.
Any ideas, other than a bunch of expensive meals with friends at Aunties or Pailolo?

I think you can also get some stuff from the market (be careful - the separate vendors who sell clothes, art etc with their own tables don’t count).

If that doesn’t work how about drinks for 30 random people around the pool?

Or see if any TUGGers are there and buy a round a drinks - or two. Or on a more serious note, ask the Westin what the credits ARE good for and try to find something that works. Can they get a gift certificate for one of the dining venues and give it to someone?

I wish $440 would cover a bunch of meals, but I think it would barely cover only one meal for a family.

Can you buy Westin items from the spa shop? Robes and things like that?

We are here now and don’t have any credits, but wish we did. We could easily spend $440 on breakfast, lunch and dinner .

Availability is unlikely, but a Trilogy cruise is a good option if available.

Maybe put it towards a Westin Heavenly bed mattress or sheet set. I like the robe idea, too.

I don't think you can order those direct from the resort. It would have to be purchased and show up on the resort folio. You buy those on ShopMarriott.com.

So how did they use the credits. Did any go to waste.

- Attend timeshare presentation.
- Apply previously purchased hotel (Marriott) vouchers.
- Redeemed Star Options or Destination Club points for resort credits.
Based on $440, my guess is that 4 sets of resort credits of $110 were redeemed from Star Options. 9K SOs = $110 resort credits.
