How to Update the Kindle Fire and Get Much Needed Performance Fixes - by Will Shanklin/ Geek.com

Amazon released an update the Kindle Fire this week, and Geek.com has the details on how to get it.

The update fixes some bugs and makes the browsing experience as bit smoother.

Haters will no doubt complain that the update does not magically transform the Fire into a 10-inch tablet like the iPad, but you can't please everybody.

Update

Just received the one I am getting my wife for Christmas so I guess we will have to update it when she opens the box.

gave one to my wife for her birthday on Dec:cheer: 5th, we ALL love it, especially my 10 yr old daughter techie. If u have amazon prime it's big plus as well.

I got one early for Christmas and DS liked it so much that we got him one also. So we are a 2 Fire family plus a Kindle 3 (keyboard).

I got mine last night, and love, love, love it. I suspect I'll rarely use the laptop as much now that I have this. Thanks for the info!

I got one from my sister today, and I didn't even ask for it. :) When I turned it on it automatically started the updates. Sweet!
