Just want to say advance planning is key. A few years back, it had been my plan to take this train Paris to London. But... I was waiting for travel info regarding my grand-daughter. We waited too long and the one way ticket price was $200+ each. We ended up flying Ryan air for $39 each. But I missed having the experience.

We did that in 2005 on a family trip to London and it was a great experience. Wish we had stayed in Paris a night or two, but even the day trip was fun with our three kids, who were high school and college age. We had arranged our trip through AAA and it included a guide who met us at the train station with information, a bus tour of Paris & a cruise along the Seine. We had a little free time which turned out kind of funny. We were in a souvenir shop across from the Louvre and managed to see the Mona Lisa on refrigerator magnets while the original was just across the street.
