How do you go about this, I recently purchased NCV. Do you work directly with NCV/Marriott or through II. I understand the fee is $75. The seller reserved the week of 9/5/09 for me, but I was thinking I would use only 3 or four days, since the kids have to go back to school and then use the rest on another 3 day holiday. Just looking at my options.

Thanks for the advice!

Split weeks are usually 4 days (Sun through Thurs) and 3 days (Thurs through Sun). I don't know if there is a fee for this. Making reservations for this option is done through Marriott owner services. When you reserve a split week, you won't be able to exchange any of the time through II.

I don't know this for sure, but it is my understanding that you have to reserve the split week initially. I am assuming you inherited this week from a seller through resale. As far as I know, you are stuck with the whole week at one time at this point.

I didn't know you could split weeks at Marriott timeshares! We've owned for 5 years and this is new to me. Is only certain resorst?

Is this a perk that only comes with developer weeks or can resale buyers of NCV also get this perk?

We recently stayed at NCV and it would certianly be one of my favorite properties to consider if we buy another week sometime.

Hope someone can explain this split week thing!

Marriott's Custom House in Boston allows split weeks also, but that is restricted only to those who own that as their home resort.

I believe that the split week option applies only to ones home resort at all resorts that offer it. The only exception to this may be in the Florida Club. It is also important to note that you must use your entire unit when splitting the week, I don't believe you can lock off and do the split week.

Custom House allows its owners to stay one night at a time. However, the same restrictions apply to weekends as at other Marriotts that allow split weeks - only one weekend stay.
