I am putting together ways to stretch my points... I've used a hotel on the weekend and a marketing presentation weekend in the past. Created a video of my ideas, but the outline is below. I figured this is a great place to get more ideas.

Frugalfinagling – Ways to stretch your points

1) Be sure to travel off peak. Travel can be 40-60% of points during peak season. examples are November and December in California, Oregon… January and February in North and South Carolina… May and September in Hawaii. Also, be sure to Avoid Weekends. Almost half of a weekly points program is for Friday and Saturday. Most crowded on the weekend

2) Alternatives for the weekend stays include… Stay at hotels on the weekend using your points from Maintenance fees paid by credit card… or leverage marketing stays for the weekend and stretch a one week’s worth of points into two.

3) Leverage last minute specials. During low season, you can often get last minute special without points for $300/week.

4) Be sure to cook in the unit. If you have a timeshare with a kitchen, why are you eating out? You should be at a hotel if you want to eat out. Use the grills …. Either community grills or the ones on the balcony

5) Stay in smaller units. If there is just one or two people, stay in a studio. Usually 25% less than a one bedroom and often has the same features. b. Ask for a portable stove-top if the studio doesn’t have a full kitchen.
