I recently purchased a timeshare on eBay. I just discovered that it's an RCI Points timeshare AFTER my resort transfer was completed! I purchased this timeshare as a weeks timeshare, and I don't want an RCI Points timeshare. How can I remove this from the RCI Points system?

Thanks for your help!

as I recall

If you or the seller didn't fill out an RCI Points transfer form with an application for your Points Account membership, then it's possible you won't need to do anything. You will need to call RCI and ask about opening a weeks account; and while you have them on the phone mention what is going on about the previous point conversion.

Now they will be able to tell you if you need to fill out any other forms to cancel the points conversion, and when the earliest you can use or deposit the unit. (RCI Points properties are typically automatically deposited for awarded points at 13 to 12 months before the annual date on the account -- so without knowing where you are at in the timing of things, it is not possible to tell.)

Call RCI points and tell them you want to dis enroll your unit from RCI Points. They will send you some paperwork to sign. Don't expect to have 2012 use or spacebanking ability as the 2012 week has probably gone to points already. You may need to deal with the seller about mis representing the sale, especially if you are responsible for 2012 fees and may not get 2012 use.
