How to get banked weeks from previous owner in II?

I finally have my account set up for The Colonies with VV and II. The previous owner said that the 2024 deposited units which are in II points would be given to me as part of the transfer. My account is in weeks which I don't understand. Why wouldn't it be points or is that an uncharged to the account? Called II and spoke with Joel and he said that the previous owner could add my name to his account so I would have access to the deposited points but that doesn't seem like a safe idea. Joel also said that the previous owner could call and transfer the points to me.I gave the info to the previous owner and he called II and couldn't transfer any of it. He has recommended a 3 way call with II to straighten things out which I am in favor of. Has anyone else had this experience and what happened? Could I buy a points account with II to use the deposited points so the previous owner can just walk away. Another option is he could use guest certificates to book the weeks I need and I could reimburse him the $79 but I don't want to make anymore work for him since he has been very gracious throughout the transfer process.

You may want to contact Mark. I don't know enough about how points work in II. I am only aware of their Club Interval Gold points program and wasn't aware that VV participated in it.

Interval International provides direct email for TUG member support
