Hello!

Brand new member here:)

We love WM and (without bragging!) know all the ins and outs of my membership. I have a great "portfolio" with some developer credits, twice as many resale, and all non-housekeeping.

Although I can use Club Pass at Wyndham, it is limited to the actual number of developer credits we own (no saving or borrowing) and there's no way I'd buy developer credits again. We don't travel East very often, but there are some Wyndham resorts in the West I think I'd use, and so we're thinking of buying Wyndham resale. I probably would start with a smaller Wyndham account (resale, obviously) to test the waters and if I like it, I'd expect to buy more in the future.

We don't plan ahead (although I know I should) and am always able to put together great vacations months to weeks (and days) ahead because Worldmark's lenient cancellation policy and the abundance of cancellations. Kids are in college so we are now vacationing (some) on our own and expect this to become more the norm.

I do have RCI but have only used it once (at a strange) Sedona resort when we needed to fill in on a roadtrip. Otherwise, I can't ever find anything that meets our needs (possibly b/c of lack of advance planning) and also I am hesitant b/c I know and like what I'm getting w/WM...

I don't understand any rules, options, fees, etc timeshare-wise that's not part of the Worldmark system. Unfortunately, I might not even know what to ask and you might not think of things to mention that I wouldn't know, and you might not know of some glaring differences...

•[WM has no deeds. We pay MF based only on the number of points we own. Everyone has equal opportunity to reserve at every resort.

• Points are dependent upon the size of unit, time of year, day of the week, and if it's an older resort or a newer one--it's very cut and dry easy-peasy. We have three seasons. Weekdays are less expensive than weekends. Larger units cost more. Older resorts (still well maintained but older in the system) cost 10k points for a 2 bdm week in red season and newer resorts are 13k for the same kind of unit.

•There are no fees other than MF (and housekeeping except that we have a grandfathered NHK account) and they are set by the WM. (We have access to Bonus/Fun Time for last minute trips which is nice if the resort is w/in driving and you don't have enough points.)

There is a "private" site where WM owners communicate and we "rent" one time use credits; WM does the transfer from one account to another so it's very safe.

Specifically, some questions that come to mind are the following but I appreciate ANY ADVICE or ideas!

~ Advantages disadvantages of CWA vs a non-CWA (deeded account called...?)
~ Concerns about buying on Ebay and things to look for when comparing offerings?
~ Resale sites to avoid or reputable resale sites?
~ What are "converted Club Wyndham Plus" accounts?
~ What are Club Wyndham Plus fees?
~ UDI?
~ Fixed Week/fixed unit/check-in Sat-Sun?
~ If one buys several non CWA accounts, is this a disadvantage? How does it work when booking online?
~ At 10 months out, are all points from all the different Wyndham types of accounts equal?

THANKS!!!

I hope this will thread will be helpful for others, and if anyone has WM questions, I can probably help.

1. Club Wyndham Plus consists of Club Wyndham Access and Club Wyndham Select. The advantage of owning a specific resort or CWA is the Advance reservation period (ARP), booking from 10-13 months.
2.
3.
3. Converted CWP accounts likely refer to converted fixed weeks.
5. CWP Fees are the operational costs for the CWP program.
6. UDI stands for UnDivided interest. Essentially when a building or resort is registered; the "regime" is assigned a total point value. You then would purchase points that give you an interest in the regime, not in a specific week.
7.
8. Shouldn't be a disadvantage.
9. At 10 months, all points are equal. If there is a specific resort you believe you will visit often, and during peak times; purchase that resort. Otherwise, target a low maintenance fee resort.
