I previously booked on the Vistana site. Almost never any IT issues.
Now at MVC site, I am always getting the message "An error occurred, please try again by refreshing your screen or contact us for assistance." when I am loading the page "Book with Points". Error message comes up right away. I cannot even fill in any fields. I am logging in at: https://login.marriottvacationclub.com/login
I read similar discussions here. Clearing the cache, different browsers (tried Chrome, Firefox, Edge - none worked), reloading the page - to no avail.
Any other workarounds? Contacting IT help at MVC was useless.
All other functions of the MVC site seem to work: I can see my points ownership, have banked points a few months ago, can calculate points. Just not book with points.
Thanks for your advice!

If you're like me and only have Vistana ownership.... You
1. Log in via Vistana
2. Go to the dashboard
3. Find the Use Club Points Section
4. Select Search & Book Reservations

This will route you to the MVC website. No need for further login

If you own within the MVC ecosystem in addition to Vistana, the above may be irrelevant. But if you own Vistana only and that ownership is eligible to convert to MVC points, you don't login via Marriott. You login via Vistana.

Thank you, but at this point, I converted all my Vistana StarOptions to Marriott MVC points, and have no longer access to Vistana. So, I am stuck with the MVC site.

When you say you've converted your StarOptions to MVC points, what exactly do you mean? Did you just elect all your Vistana VOIs for Club Points that year? Or did you trade in your Vistana VOIs for MVC Trust Points?

You may still have browser cookies that are saved related to your Vistana ownership and Vistana.com. You may need to delete browser cookies. Also make sure you've disabled any ad blocker. Try logging in using private browsing mode.

If you sold your Westin VC or Sheraton VC VOIs and actually purchased MVC Trust Points, then you will have a login at marriottvacationclubs.com [note the website changed and added an s after the word club] -- if you never obtained your MVC Owner number and MVC owner login, then you will need to contact the customer service department directly in order to get your login info. If you sold off your old VOIs, you would not use that old "Vistana" login to access the ownership. As dioxide says above, if you still own your original VOI, then you log in to that dashboard.

Thanks, dioxide45 and LislieDet, I did indeed trade in my Vistana VOIs for MVC Trust Points, and marriottvacationclubs.com is the only login I have, no more Vistana.
Actually, if I go to marriottvacationclubs.com and click on Owner Login, the URL reverts to https://login.marriottvacationclub.com/login?langPref= (without "s").
Regardless of the "s" or not, I can see my points ownership, I have banked points a few months ago, I can calculate points. Just not book with points.
But maybe it's a moot point. For high demand weeks, e.g. Christmas in Hawaii, do you have more success with the website or by calling in a few minutes before the release time? Thanks for your advice!

Are you actually trying to book and the website just doesn’t let you even get to that step or are you receiving a message that you’re outside your booking window? If the site isn’t allowing you to actually even get to the drop down menu, call CS and request an IT ticket to report if you’re certain that your browser isn’t blocking pop ups. If you’re outside your booking window, then use the “when can I book” resource. Read the FAQs about release dates. Understand the difference between trust owned and exchange inventory. The booking windows and release dates are different between the brands.

My condolences on being misled into the “sell your existing VOI and buy MVC Trust points” pitch. idk what you previously owned, but trying to use Club Points to book Christmas in Hawaii will be challenging. Your best chance will be K’Olina. Perhaps Lagoons on Kauai. Or the “city” aka Pulse properties on the Big Island and just recently opened Honolulu. Also, your owner level matters for booking timeframe.

Thank you, LeslieDet! Yes, I am aware of the booking window. I have a 13-month booking window (MVC Executive), but that's not the issue. I can't book anything. I always get the message "An error occurred, please try again by refreshing your screen or contact us for assistance." when I am loading the page "Book with Points". I have initiated an IT ticket the week before Thanksgiving and still no response. I have deleted cookies and cache, set browser setting to allow popups for all URL of marriottvacationclub - no success. :-(
I had Vistana StarOptions Flex before, no fixed week, so I realize booking into high demand weeks will be challenging. I converted to have access not just to the Vistana properties but to the other MVC properties without having to convert points on a yearly basis. Obviously, that did not work out as planned, as now I cannot book on the website at all. Vistana website booking never was a problem for me.

It isn't anything I've ever experienced on that owner site; it really sounds like an IT issue and you need to deal with with MVC to get it resolved. If you've already tried to use the chat feature to book (type in representative to get to a human being during staffed hours), and you've already called in to speak with a CSR and you have the IT ticket, I suspect that no one on this site is going to be able to help you solve the problem.

As to booking the high demand weeks, I'm not sure that you realize for many of the high demand resort locations in Hawaii, weeks 51 and 52 were sold as fixed weeks. Those owners rarely elect Club Points in lieu of occupancy. That is why I suggested K'Olina, Lagoons on Kauai or the two "city" locations. Because K'Olina was built out during the great recession, much of the inventory was dumped into the MVC Trust when it was created in 2010. That is why there are K'Olina weeks owned by the Trust; Lagoons and Newport Coast -- those locations had a lot of inventory when Marriott International created the Trust and dumped the unsold timeshare inventory in it. For those trust owned weeks, you have just as good of a chance to book with points as your fellow owners. Inventory releases at 13 months and again at 12 months. You can get on a wait list at month 12.

Thank you, LeslieDet, this is really helpful to know. I will call IT CS again tomorrow.
