Nice, I only got 1/10 of yours, 2000 pts.How many points did you save on the sale that is going on now? I will start. I saved just over 20,000 points!
Make that 5,040. Managed to snag another day in the same penthouse unit.4,600 at The Quin.
They seem to come up for the HGVC resorts in the winter (January-March) and the late summer (August) when it's a fairly low season. This one was about another month or so in addition to the typical August one I've seen. How often do they do these sales? I've never seen this before.
What is HVC? I bought HGVC resale at Tuscany and see the discount at most of the Orlando resorts. They seem to come up for the HGVC resorts in the winter (January-March) and the late summer (August) when it's a fairly low season. For HVC, there seem to be more frequent discounts available. This kind of makes up for some of the resorts (e.g., Cabo Azul) where there is no seasonal variation in the number of points for a room. I've noticed on the HVC side of things that you don't get access to the discounts if your points are resale, though - not a big deal for me as I plan further out than the discounts allow in general and spent way less than retail on what I own there.
HVC is what HGV names the former Diamond system. They are generally a step down from most HGVC properties. They as far as Parc Soleil goes, I believe it’s a pretty popular resort so they don’t need deals for people to book there. What is HVC? Is that why there is no discount at Parc Soleil?
