How many people have you "fit" into a TS unit?

.....this would be "above and beyond" the listed capacity (according to RCI or II). I generally stay within the guidelines, however, on a few occasions, have gone 1 or 2 above the listed limit: 9 people in Waterside 3 BR (limit 8), 5 in 1 BR at MC (limit 4)....but over half of the occupants were children, so it didn't seem so crowded. And, we could make do with the bedding in the units.

While at River Village II in the Poconos this past week.....saw 12 people who were staying in a neighboring unit (sleeps 8 max...using the 2 "wooden" sofas). When half the party checked out mid-week...they left carrying so many pillows, blankets, sleeping bags, etc., it looked like a slumber party!

As long as your flock is well-behaved, you're pretty much in the clear...
Not that I would encourage this sort of thing when I'm staying nearby.

We've only done it once. At the Marriott Custom House, DD flew up and stayed part of the week with us, making a total of five. Our youngest was 5 or 6yo at the time and slept on the floor in the corner of the bedroom.

I had heard that management turned a blind eye on this and we all came and went together, often stopping at the desk for some reason. They never questioned it.

I don't count kids under 12 or 13 as full adults...so we have often "crammed" 7 people into a 2 bedroom with a 6 person occupancy.

You may not, but the resort management may have a different view. Over occupy at your own risk, after all what's the worst that can happen? Oh yeah, they could throw you all out.

Many resorts take occupancy limits very seriously as it is a violation of fire codes...

we did this in Austria sleeping 7 in a 2 bedroom lockoff. It turned out that there actually were "beds" for all. DH & I were in the studio on a king-size bed and there was a single couch bed for one of my grandsons. DD & her husband slept on the sleep sofa in the one-bedroom living room and the other 2 grandsons each had a single bed in the long, narrow bedroom.

Units for >6 are so hard to obtain that we may end up doing this elsewhere with one of the grandsons on an air mattress on the floor and sleeping bag on top.

I find that the limit in II is alot less that the resort. Example, the lockoffs are listed as 0/2 but the resort has a limit of 4 in the lockoff.

I never plan on surpassing the limit since we love extra room.

in response to overfilling in Austria, let me warn you about our experience in Austria a few years ago. we got a great price on a getaway for the Sporthotel in St. Johann (Pongau) only $199! it was advertised as 2/2. when we got there they were NOT going to let our 9yo son sleep with one of us. (ein Person, ein Bett) so we had to pay another $200 for another Bett! by the way no kitchen either. beautiful village however and close to Salzburg. -ken

This could have been an interesting prospect as the fire alarm for our building went off shortly after midnight the second night we were there. I don't recall the fire department or management making a head count. In fact, one unit refused to open their door and the fire dept. or management didn't force the issue. For that matter, one of the fireman couldn't figure out why the elevator wasn't working. It took our adult son pointing out he needed a special key to operate it while the fire alarm was going off.

I didn't feel particularly safe for the remainder of the trip after watching the keystone firefighters at work that night. BTW, this resort had it's activities center burn to the ground almost 2 years ago secondary to a squirl chewing on some wires.
