We're headed to Grande Ocean and they've already contacted us to do a presentation. I wasn't here to take the call but my husband said they wanted to give us 15,000 points. I just read on the Oceana Palms thread they received 20,000.

We are at Timber Lodge, and they are only offering 10,000. However, they also have a 30 minute group intro, for 5,000. Even though we did that on Wednesday, we are still getting the invitation message every day.

If you want to do the 90 minute sales presentation, they add another 5000.
Actually the 30 minute overview was well done, and the room was full, about a fourth of the 30 (more or less...didn't count) or so people raised their hands that they were already In the DC. We didn't stick around to see how many signed up for the full sales pitch. Quite a few lingered, but they could have been asking questions, as there was no Q &A session.

I would say 5,000 for a phone sales call and 15k on site is pretty standard with Marriott. If you get 20k all the better.

We received 20,000 for a presentation at Kauai Lagoons earlier this month.

Promised 15,000 points but only received 10,000

We were at Harbor Point on HHI. We were invited by the concierge to attend the DC presentation at Surfwatch and were promised 15,000 points for attending. I checked my MR account and we received only 10,000 points. We contacted the concierge but have not received a return call. I think we are finished wasting our time in dealing with Marriott presentations especially when we are promised one number of points but given a lessor number of points.

I don't know if this will happen to you or not, but we were told our 20k (Oceana Palms) incentive would be posted to our account as (2) 10k transactions. We were given a receipt confirming this approach. MAYBE you will be seeing your other 5k points soon!

every time we have done a presentation in the past, upon completing the presentation, we received a receipt listing the specific amount of points we are to receive. Did you not receipt one?

We received a call back from the concierge who assured me that they will give me the promised amount. We received a receipt with 10,000 points printed with that amount crossed out and 15,000 written in on the receipt. We will give it some time before I give up on Marriott.

MR 7 night packages

If you select a 7 night reward package to get airline miles and you select two hotels that are the same category or tier can you split the 7 night package into a 3/4 night stay at two different locations as long as you do not exceed the 7 consecutive night total?

HHI presentations seem to offer the least of anywhere. We were offered 10K back in April. I think they can fill their spots faster since they have only one sales gallery for all of the resorts on HHI. So they don't need to offer as large of an incentive to get people through the door.

Thanks everyone; I'll let you know the rest of the story after we do the presentation.

Received 15.000 at HH first week of Sept. However, my friend went on Thurs the same week and received 20,000. Thursday was not busy, so to do presentations, they gave 5000 extra points. Nobody I spoke with purchased points.

Not enough to take a second of my vacation time.....

This is exactly what I told the *sweet young thing* who called here yesterday, in advance of our arrival this coming Thursday at Grande Vista. She had been told to say "but we're not trying to sell you any weeks!" - and I countered with "Well. you do NOT sell weeks anymore - only points. We are NOT INTERESTED." She pressed on - why not? I said we were not going to be lied to, pressured, and manipulated - we were DONE - and knew all we needed to know about the not-so-new-anymore program.

Manor Club wouldn't offer any MR points to me, so I didn't stay for it...don't think anyone else did either.

Marriott at Shadow Ridge offered 5,000 today. Definitely not worth that

When I attended a recent presentation at Surfwatch I was given a written receipt with the offer on it. I kept the receipt handy until I saw the points (15k) posted to my account, which was about a week later.

Here is something bew being offered by Marriott at their Ocean Point/Oceana Palms sales site . . . a free Kindle for taking the tour! This just started this week. We took the tour last week and this was not available or we would have selected this option. Last week we were offered 20,000 points of $125 in Marriott Money. I think this gift will go over well.
