Not sure if anyone knows this, but:

How many 4 bedroom presidential units are at Wyndham Ocean Blvd in North Myrtle Beach?

Are they all on the top floor?

Anyone who has stayed in one......what did you think? Looking at staying there Thanksgiving this year.

I have stayed in the 4BR Presidential at Ocean Boulevard. I was in the one that is wheelchair-accessible, and generally I try to avoid those units because the showers seem to leak since there is no "lip" getting into the shower. Soaking wet bath mats grow tiresome.

The view is awesome, and the wrap-around balcony is nice, but not very deep. The Presidential units here are not as nice in the interior as at some other resorts such as Bonnet Creek or Great Smokies Lodge - perhaps the "nautical theme" is just not my preference, but I think there's a wear and tear factor since it's beachfront.

I'll post a couple of pictures from my last stay in one. No doubt it is definitely not worth the points cost (at least at full value). Much better value at Grand Desert or Bonnet Creek at roughly half the points cost.

Thanks for the photos!

We are staying 5 nights during the 'value' season, so the points were not as bad as they normally are. We stayed there during Thanksgiving last year in a 3 bedroom deluxe, but the 1,100 sq ft was a little tight for the 8 of us! Looking forward to more room this time.

Thanks for the input!

Hi,
I booked a 2 bedroom presidential unit and a 1 bedroom deluxe ocean view for our trip in August. Really wanted a 3 bedroom for our family but couldn't get one this late out that was upper floor ocean view. So the 2 bedroom presidential is upper level ocean view and the 1 bedroom is lower level ocean view. We have never been to this resort, we have been to Seawatch once, which is where are points are deeded.
How do the 2 resorts compare?
Can you recommend any restaurants or things to do in the area? Also, if my husband and I choose not to drive one night so we can enjoy a cocktail at a restaurant, how is the taxi service, is it reliable?
Thanks, Sue

We enjoyed the Shack Restaurant in North Myrtle Beach during our stay in October. Great price, large servings. Not walkable, but worth the trip.

OB vs SeaWatch

OB is not as spread out as SW. I guess a lot of people would prefer SW, but we like the location of OB where you can walk to Ocean Drive Main Street to shops, several grill/casual restaurants, ice cream, and various clubs that have "beach music." In season, there are also amusement park rides.

The 2br presidential will give you a larger living space so that will be nice. I like the units at OB but they may not be quite as large as the ones at SW (we usually stay in the villas there). There are several pool and lazy river options, but a complaint is that they are between the towers and frequently in the shade and breezy. I personally think the beach is nicer at OB than SW and we usually spend most of our time there instead of at the pools. Be aware of the NMB beach umbrella law (I just googled it and will copy and paste here):

Placement of shading devices on the beach from May 15 through September 15: Other than umbrellas with a center pole no greater than seven feet six inches (7 feet 6 inches) in height and with a circular shade no greater than nine feet (9 feet) in diameter, all shading devices, including but not limited to tents, tarps, cabanas, pavilions, sports-brellas or devices similar to sports-brellas, or any material mounted on supports are prohibited from being placed on the beach from May 15 through September 15. An umbrella is defined as a collapsible circular shade consisting of a natural or synthetic fabric shade stretched over hinged ribs radiating from a central pole without grounding lines or ropes.

I haven't used the taxi service, but they are plentiful. Our adult kids have used taxis to go to Broadway at the Beach and have not had complaints.

First poster here. I'm sure I'm not in the correct thread but as a new platinum member I am being told that Pres Reserve is the way to go. After doing some research I am asking the question : What is the real advantage to PR since I have had no problems getting reservations wherever and whenever I've wanted?

Presidential Reserve offers a few added perks beyond VIP Platinum but it comes at a substantial price both initially and monthly. Go to the Wyndham website “Online Learning Center” where you’ll find the information you're looking for.

LOWER MAINTENANCE FEES! ACCESS TO OTHER PROPERTIES AND PRESIDENTIAL INVENTORY. ALL NEW RESORTS WILL HOUSE ABOUT HALF PRESIDENTIAL UNITS WHICH WILL BE RESERVED FOR PRESS RESERVE MEMBERS ONLY UNTIL express reservation period

Boardwalk Billy's is great local place to grab some seafood and live music. But ob is 3 blocks south of main street in nmb. Lots of small bars and shag clubs (we are the birthplace of shag) so something within walking distance. Also taxi to myrtle Broadway will run you $50 . Recommend uber around here.
