Just looking for a little guidance here about how long it normally takes to get a timeshare deed recorded with Maricopa County? I'm trying to figure out when it is time to start tweaking the closing company about it. Thanks for any input.

It depends on the company you are using. The counties are all generally fairly quick, but the closing companies drag their feet and really cause us to wait longer than we should have to.

Which closing company are you using? If you use Time Travel Traders, it would probably be about 3 weeks, from beginning to end. But they are superior to everyone else, AND they are cheaper, too.

The Timeshare Company

The transaction is being handled by The Timeshare Company. It looks like that's an Ari Fried company.

Do you know whether it has been sent to the county for recording already? If not, ask the closing company for the date so you can start your countdown. I would guess two to three weeks maybe, depending on how busy the recorder's office is at the moment. You can check online every day to see when it records.

Thanks Denise. They tell me it was sent about a month ago, but I'm giving them a extra time because of the holidays. I was just trying to figure out some kind of realistic timeline so I put the pressue on when appropriate.

Are you checking the county recording office website? There's a link in Owner Resources.

Uri Fried's company is actually very fast, so I would expect it to be less than six weeks.

Worked for me

Are you checking the county recording office website? There's a link in Owner Resources.

This is what I did. The closing company (Resort Closings Inc.) was waiting for the county to send them the deed. I finally checked online and informed them that it had been recorded. I also emailed a copy to Starwood and they recorded the ownership change in a matter of days.

Thanks everyone. Fried's closing company has been good about communicating with me so far. But I'm a newbie to buying one of these so I'm just trying to watch to make sure everything stays on track. I'll keep an eye on the county recorder's website.

Camster - once it records with the county, you can send a copy to Starwood yourself to speed up being recognized by them. The contact info. is in Owner Resources at the top of the board.
