Purchased Marriott Manor Club 1/2/12. Just found out deed is now in my name and deed/paperwork has just been sent to Marriott. How long does it usually take for Marriott to finalize the transfer? Do I get any information from Marriott directly letting me know the transfer is complete? I would like to join II soon.

Thanks!

It will be about 7-10 days after Marriott has confirmed receipt of your docs. They will tell you 30 days but it doesn't take that long. You will get a letter stating that you are new owner with new owner ID.

If you want to keep closer track on it (as I did) you can call owner services and asked to be transfered to owner modifications department. Have your deed in hand and be prepared to give them the inventory number of the week you purchased (should be on your deed) and previous owner's name (will be on your deed as well). They will look it up and the file will be noted in the system of the owner transfer request once Marriott has received the docs.

The closing company I used notified me once they got confirmation of the transfer completion. I then called Marriott to confirm and they gave me my new owner number over the phone. I received the confirmation letter in the mail 1 week after that.

I agree. We were told 30 days, but it happened in 10-14 days. Congratulations!

Our deed for Las Vegas was done on 12/30/11 and Marriott just completed the process today. Financials are still not updated as I'm unable to book.

It took Marriott about a month after they got my deed to change ownership. They blamed the holidays.

I just happened to be talking with MGVC the day ownership was changed, or at least the day that MGVC said that they could see it.

As stated, make sure that you have a copy of your deed, with the inventory control number on it. They would't do anything without it.

While I was on the phone with a Marriott Owners Service Rep (OSR), she called II for me and we setup an II account - glad I/we did that. I also reserved my 2012 week while we were on the phone. Funny that although MGVC setup everything that day, they said it would take 2 weeks before my owner account would become active - I could not log into MGVC. The owner account became active in about 10 day and I only knew about it because I saw it in II and I was finally able to login to MGVC as an owner.

By the way, the whole process of talking with an OSR, setting up my MGVC account, my II account, and reserving a week took over an hour on the phone.

So, I can finally see Marriott exchages in II for Hawaii, St. Thomas, Aruba, Paris, and Phuket: the reason I bought my Shadow Ridge. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: I'm an owner!

Thank you all! Do I call resort itself (Manor Club) or is there a central Marriott owner service phone number?

Just a little added info! I purchased an Ocean Pointe 2-BR on 2/6 (started the closing process) and today (3/8) I got word that Marriott has recognized me as the owner. I am very happy with this time from start to finish. Marriott did tell me to tell the closing agent to use the same customer no. that I had just gotten on my Ko Olina unit in mid Feb. because it would make things go a lot smoother. I suppose this helped to some extent. BTW, I had been told the paper work was going to be sent to Marriott on last Fri., therefore it did take Marriott just a week or a tad less. How did you do on getting your owner transfer?

It took about a week, after making a few phone calls to Marriott owner services. Total time was 5 weeks from purchase to finalization of transfer. Purchased from CJ Timeshares and closing was Timeshare Closing Services.

What season was the Ocean Pointe week? Just curious since someone on another thread posted that they recieved an offer from Marriott to buy back their Gold season. Is Marriott taking the Gold Ebay weeks back by using ROFR, or are they still making it through?

Hi there, my season is Gold oceanside/view. Mine went thru ROFR in less than a week and I really don't expect a buy back offer on the unit. Actually, the ink is still drying on my new ownership of it. Are you wanting to get rid of your unit and if so.....are you dissatisfied???

No, I own a platinum Ocean Pointe week and LOVE it there. I was just wondering if they are buying back Gold weeks from owners if they were also using ROFR.

I have a pending purchase of an Oceana Palms week waiting to go through ROFR at the moment.
