HI all,
I have on OGS for Kauai and Oahu for late Oct/early Nov 2024 setup since August. In your experience how long does it take to find a match. I'm searching against CLC points, when I entered the search I accepted all but 1 or 2 of the default resorts for each island. All together there are about 30 resorts for each. I'm not too picky about the resort, just looking for a 2 br in that time period. I'm assuming that deposits to II will start coming in as we get closer to Jan 1.

Thank You
Jeff C

It varies quite a lot by brand. For anything MVC: requesting before 13 months ahead is a decent tactic, but you are competing with the MVC preference period so not much may make it out of that for general inventory and less for 2-beds. As you say, the people waiting to pay their 2024 maint fees will be a factor, so expect more in Jan/Feb when some people plan their vacations. Some locations don't release earlier than 3-6 months out so you won't see them until then anyway.
The TUG sightings forum will give you a more refined response as to what tends to get released when, and whether 2-beds come up much.
All the best.

Agree with Hindsite. The preference period for Marriott/ Westin/ Sheraton can hurt those who don't own in that resort group. I realized this a very long time ago. I had only generic points to use.

Westin currently has inventory sitting online for August of 2024, but you have to have a Sheraton/ Westin to get those with preference. I was able to grab 3 back-to-back weeks for next August. I had retrades to use, and my Marriott retrades wouldn't work, only my Sheratons worked to get those weeks as retrades.

I just saw you want a 2 bedroom. That will be much more difficult to get because Lagoons is a rarity, Waiohai has 2 bedrooms, and you might luck into the Marriott's Kauai in Lihue. Point at Poipu is a possibility and a beautiful spot. Sheraton Kauai is nice as well. The Westin only banks studios and one bedrooms for the Princeville location.
